PROTECT YOURSELF FROM COUNTERFEIT ENGINE PARTS

Counterfeiting is a serious problem facing the automotive and heavy-duty parts industries, since installing a counterfeit part could cause severe engine damage resulting in increased costs and other risks for installers and consumers.

Remember, counterfeit products
…are rarely tested for performance and durability
…carry no quality warranty
...are often made with incorrect specifications, materials and tolerances
…more likely to cause engine failure.

INVESTING IN DESIGN AND PRODUCTION FOR OUTSTANDING QUALITY

Invest in genuine engine parts for safety performance and reliability. Reputable brands like AE, FP Diesel, Glyco, Goetze, Nüral, and Payen ensure outstanding quality. Counterfeit parts lack rigorous testing, risk high oil consumption, overheating and seizure. Invest in design and production for reliability and customer satisfaction. Avoid counterfeit risks; trust genuine parts for professional expertise.

WE ARE READY TO HELP YOU FIGHT BACK

Every new internal engine component from DRiV’s “Engine Expertise” brands is now delivered with special packaging features that enable you to quickly, conveniently and accurately verify that it is a genuine part that will provide the safety, fitment, performance and reliability you need and expect.
Here's how it works:

  1. The majority of AE, FP Diesel, Glyco, Goetze, Nüral, and Payen packages are sealed with a security label featuring a custom QR code.
  2. If the package is missing the label, or the label has been broken, contact your  parts provider to request product(s) that are in a properly sealed box.
  3. Use your smartphone’s camera to scan the QR code.
  4. Follow the on-screen directions to quickly authenticate your parts.
  5. If the part(s) fail this authentication process, they might be counterfeit. Immediately contact your parts provider and the DRiV/Garage Gurus Technical Support Center. (add email) * include video on steps to take, when not valid*

REMEMBER, WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE OFTEN MATTERS THE MOST

A counterfeit engine valve, piston ring, engine bearing, cylinder liner or other part might look almost exactly like the genuine part. The box it came in might even feature a familiar brand logo and supplier name.

But here are a few key differences you can’t see:

  • Material quality: Is the part manufactured from the precise steel or aluminium alloy specified by the engine manufacturer? If not, it might quickly fail and cause damage to other components/systems.
  • Surface treatment: Has the part been properly tempered/hardened and/or coated as required for the engine you are repairing? In most cases, a counterfeit part receives no added hardening/coating treatments, which can lead to rapid wear and engine damage.
  • Surface finish: Has the part’s surface been finished to the proper specification to ensure correct clearance, oil retention or anti-friction properties? If not, fuel consumption might increase, the parts might experience rapid wear or even complete seizure / failure.
  • Bearing lining: What is the composition of the lining material on bearing faces? If the manufacturer calls for tri-metal lining, for example, can you be certain this is what has been applied to the bearing?

Remember, by authenticating your engine parts prior to assembly/installation, you can be certain they will protect your reputation, your business and your customers.
