10 Dodge Charger intermittent radio

by jordzak23 on Aug 15 2017, 4:29 PM

I have a 2010 Dodge Charger that the Radio just started intermittently not working when this happens it acts as if the car is off as I have no display but it doesn't lose radio presets like it would if it was total loss of power. this is not my strong suit and I'm just looking for a place to start which is very difficult as it is intermittent and does not seem to have a pattern. any advise on where to start or common issues would be appreciated.

Start by scanning all the modules in the computer. If you are losing multiple modules, possible network fault. Also radio itself is suspect. Don't believe you have a bad ignition switch, because that would cause a power loss to the radio. Should reset time.

Check to see if you are losing 12v B+ or ground and check resistance as well.  You can still have 12v memory to keep the presets.  Not sure of any common issues but thats at least a starting point.
