17 Ford Escape P0299
by 1986chevyman on Feb 28 2019, 12:47 PMElite Tech
Had this 2017 Ford Escape 2.0 4cylinder Eco boost come in with a P0299 Turbo under boost. Test drove it, sure enough it was lacking power. Did a visual inspection under hood, no problems seen. Lifted car up and remove the under car shield and inspected. Found that the turbo output hose at the turbocharger had blown off. It was somewhat oily (looked like the turbo was starting to leak oil internally). Refastened the hose and test drove, power is back. This vehicle is a company car of a friend of mine and only had 39k miles on it. I told him when he gets back home to take it to the Ford dealer and tell them the turbo is leaking oil internally and had swollen up the rubber has connecting it to the turbocharger.
