2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser miss
by tonto1956 on Feb 14 2018, 8:44 PMHave a customer that has a #3 cylinder misfire code on a 2005 PT Cruiser. Customer has replaced coil, plug wire, plug, and injector. Can get no spark out of #3 plug wire but can out of the other 3. Information says the coil fires by halves. Anybody else run into this?

Each side of the ignition coil has to produce enough energy to fire two spark plugs. The control circuit from the pcm is good if at least one plug on each side fires. Either you have a faulty new coil or there is high resistance in the #3 spark plug wire or spark plug.
