2007 Jeep Wrangler P2173
by 1986chevyman on May 04 2019, 12:26 PMElite Tech
Had this 07 Wrangler with a 3.8 v-6 come in with a code P2173 High airflow/vacuum leak detected. When this code would appear the engine would go into torque management mode and would loose power and misfire at idle. At first I thought it was a throttle body issue. But after doing some research, I decided to smoke test the engine and to my surprise I found a fair size vacuum leak at the EGR tube to EGR valve gasket. I replace the gasket and the o-ring on the other end of the EGR tube and vehicle is fixed. Moral of the story, do your homework (research, Google, Youtube, Identifix, ect) before you go on a wild goose chase.
