2010 Ford F350 premature friction wear

Using OE Brake Pads wearing out at about 15,000 miles. Drive some Hills any Idea on a friction recommendation.

    When your using a ceramic pad on a truck of that size it's not the best idea ! Ceramic pads off the bad wear faster do the soft coumpound in them . IF your hauling or have a trailer hooked to it and if your an agressive at breaking kiss those breaks good buy ! I would recommend Wagner Sever duty prodcut starts with SX these are mettallic top grade pads made for a truck like yours

    If all pads are wearing at the same time,  it’ll be hard to tell if the caliper pins are stuck or not.  Make sure they are not full ceramic. Go with semi metallic.

    Could be the calipers are hanging up, pad seats are too tight, or just excessive hauling/use.

    The red motorcraft brakes are not OEM the blue Ford boxes are OEM and have a longer life tha the red boxes.

    Premature failure could be cause by improper install.

    Brake pad life will depend on the driving style and loads hauled. I would also recommend the Wagner Severe Duty pads. The OE friction material is not designed for long life. According to the Wagner catalog your 2010 F350 would need the SX3133A if your truck has dual rear wheels and SX1631A if it has single rear wheels.

    You will need a medium grade pads. If you get something to light they will just glaze over.

    If fronts are wearing out prematurely make sure the rear slide pins are not frozen and calipers are functioning properly

    i found that motorcraft brakes were my best bet and every other brake job changed the rotors (american or canadian only no china) and mic the rotors when not changing. also leave the bearing a little loose to help the piston move back in.  i believe there was a t s b on that. also never use regular grease or anti sieze on rubber, use the synthetic grease of the caliper slides don't slide due to expanded rubber
