Autel Maxisys? Do you have one?

We are thinking of purchasing an Autel maxisys. Do you have any experience with this tool? What are the best features? Are there any problems?

The Autel is a great tool for the money.

I have owned the Autel MaxiSys MS906 for 2 years now. As with all non factory scan tools - there are some "holes" in coverage. No aftermarket scan tool can compete with the manufacturers scan tool - but again the cost between the 2 is ridiculous.

We use the Snap On Verus, Autel Maxisys, Matco Maximus and the VAG for Volkswagen/Audi. It is hard to only have one scanner these days. The Snap on is the most user friendly of these tools. After getting the Snap on tool updated it has slowed down some. The Autel is the second most user friendly tool that we use. The Matco tool is an ok tool. The VAG works great on VW Audi. If I were only to purchase one tool it would be the Autel tool. I feel that it gives you the most bang for your buck.

From what I have read, The Maxisys Elite has a lot of bang for the buck.  But be sure to purchase it from a reputable vendor, like aeswave.com.

There is a user group on Facebook, Autel Scantool Users Group, where you may get more up to date information.  From past experience Autel North America is not very helpful.

We have the maxisys as well.  PROS: Scans most makes and models.  Allows some factory level functions.  Prints nice reports to wireless printer.  Ability to overlay graphs in live data.  Reflashing works great when paired with a computer.

CONS: Slow to read some imports, most notably Honda, Nissan, Toyota.  Tech support is slow.

Summary: Nice tool.  I believe every shop needs multiple scanners to complete the variety of tasks we're regularly asked to do.  Personally I prefer the newer snapon solus or modis if you need an oscilloscope.

We have a Maxisys that has been great.  Good tool and does a large amount of factory functions.  I use it occasionally for J2534 reprogramming with no issue as well.

The Autel will do some things that only the factory scan tool will.  I love mine. I haven’t done any programming with it yet, I prefer to use the factory tool.  The Autel is a great tool for the money.
