Bearing Installation
by 1986chevyman on Dec 05 2018, 5:32 PMElite Tech
When installing a bearing on a shaft with a tight fit, I put the bearing in an old toaster oven and heat it up thus expanding it a very little making it easy to slide on. I also keep old bearing races and cut completely thru them. Thus I can use it to drive on or press on a new bearing and it will easily tap off with a hammer.
