Homemade megaphone
by 1986chevyman on May 09 2019, 12:59 PMElite Tech
Ever try to find an elusive noise with a stethoscope, but can't pinpoint it. Wa la, make yourself a handy megaphone to help pinpoint the noise. First take an empty gallon jug (preferably round) and cut out the bottom. Then find a long flat blade screwdriver that will fit snugly in the other end (small end) of the jug. I heated mine up with a heat gun to be able to force the handle of the screwdriver into the small opening. Now you have a listening device that will amplify the noise that you are chasing. Simply and carefully place the tip of the screwdriver against the area of the suspected noise and listen to the amplified noise in the megaphone.
