I have a Snap On and Matco 1/2 air impact. Both are very good. The Snap On seems to be a little more powerful. The Matco is lighter.

I own a snap on air impact and I would say its great, gets the lug nuts off fast and easy without struggling and when I bought it, it came with impact boot cover to protect it from getting beat up over the years.  I would invest in a really good one because I used a harbor freight one for a while till it broke trying to get a lug nut off it snapped and I kept hearing air.  Attached to this is the broken harbor freight one, so I recommend buying snap on or matco if you work on vehicles everyday it will benefit you in the long run.

Dewalt makes great battery powered impacts if you don't have access to and air line from a compressor.

Ingersoll-Rand 2135TIMAX 1/2-Inch Air Impact Wrench.  Light, fast, powerful.  If compressor is slow, gun still hits very hard.  Boss bought top of the line Snap-On....when his doesn’t do,it he grabs my IR.  My third one.  First generation (Matco, IR design) had repeated trigger failures.  Second generation tough as they come, nose piece (hammer case) cracked, cheaper to buy the entire 2135.  All my other every day use air tools are Mac.  Seem to be the most reliable...

I use an IR 2131 Series Air Impact Wrench. Somewhat heavy on the weight side but plenty of power on stubborn fasteners.
