What do you do when after replacing a pressed in balljoint and its loose in the hole?

Beside tack welding it and remplacing complete control arm?

We don’t recommend tack welding a ball joint, as you can damage internal ball joint components, and  that can become a serious safety issue or at the very least cause premature wear! From what we are seeing in the automotive industry, there are a couple of issues you can run into. Sometimes aftermarket manufacturers make oversized ball joints, and once installed, will not allow other brands to fit. Very often we also find that replacement control arm/ball joint assemblies will have non-standard ball joint diameters, which will not allow an aftermarket ball joint (which is designed for the factory arm only) to fit in the replacement arm. The arm hole can also be damaged if the ball joint is beat out of the hole with a hammer. You can check with some aftermarket manufacturers, since for a handful of oversized ball joints are offered for some applications which could possibly solve your problem. If not, you will most likely have to replace the whole arm.
