What happened to all the 1/4 drive air impacts?
by bigfrank330 on Aug 31 2017, 3:44 PMI've noticed that 1/4 drive air impacts are kind of disappearing. My snap on dealer only has one listed in his catalog and he doesn't have a single one on his truck. I've always preferred air tools to cordless, apparently I must be the only one.
I bought the cordless 1/4 drive, I just don't like it as much as the tool it replaced; it is heavier and much larger.
Anyone out there still using a 1/4 air impact? Where did you get it? I'm trying to replace a recently retired tool.

I would highly rec purchasing the makita 18V impact gun. Light, POWERFUL(i have gotten 100ft/lb lug nuts off with the 1/4 adapter) has a light on the gun and turns on when in use. I have used mine for the last 3-4 years or so and still working on a daily basis.

Everybody has been switching to the electric. Matco still has them on the truck where I'm at.
