Biography
El Paso, Illinois native Ryan Unzicker, along with his wife and 3-year-old son, owns and operates a top tier Super Dirt Late Model team. Dirt racing is thick in his blood and his team has deep roots in the sport. From the low points of taking a wild ride in the hornet division to the high points of winning his first UMP Super Late model National Championship, he has been through it all. His team is strong and one of the most respected teams in the region with well over 100 years of combined racing experience. He has 65 Super Late Model career wins, including DirtonDirt.com's Best Homegrown Performance of 2015 where he stunned the crowd and passed the Hall of Famer Billy Moyer on the last lap to win the Slocum 50 at 34 Raceway in Iowa. His team is no stranger to Victory Lane during big events. In 2015, he took the checkered flag in the coveted Herald & Review 100 at the high-banked, tight-quartered Mighty Macon Speedway. Ryan also scored one of his favorite victories in 2013 during the UMP Summer Nationals tour in front of the hometown fans at the historic Fairbury American Legion Speedway against some of the nation's top competition.
"We, at Ryan Unzicker Racing, have strived to take home our first Summer Nationals Championship for the past 8 years, but have fallen short on numerous occasions. We believe that with the help from our awesome fans and the great people at Champion Spark Plugs, we can break through and take the 2016 title. We know what it takes to be a Champion. We must be Performance Driven, just like Champion Spark Plugs. So let Champion ignite the fire in your engines, and vote for Ryan Unzicker!"
